PAM 00090
The power reserve lets the wearer check the remaining power at any time by
the indicator on the dial. This function was developed by Officine
Panerai's master watchmakers who created a transmission system connecting
the barrel's winding spring and the movement's gear train with the power
reserve indicator, which moves as the winding spring transmits the
accumulated energy to the movement wheels. The case of the Luminor Power
Reserve - 44 mm, made of polished steel, is water-resistant to 30 BAR (~300
metres) and has the characteristic drawbridge: the mechanism was designed
by Officine Panerai to protect the crown but most of all to make it
waterproof, as it is one of the most delicate parts of a watch when
immersed in water. The dial of the Luminor Power Reserve - 44 mm, with a
black background, bears the unmistakable Officine Panerai style: large
markers, luminescent Arabic numbers and hands, all of which guarantee
exceptional visibility under all conditions of use. In addition to the
small seconds dial at 9 o'clock and which is constantly moving, the watch
also has an arched sector between 4 and 5 o'clock: this is the power
reserve indicator, marking off the number of remaining hours of power.
Above that is the date indicator, with a magnifying glass inserted in the
3.5-mm thick, non-reflective sapphire crystal.
