PAM 00515 The historic fascination of the Radiomir 1940 case is making its debut in the historic collection of Officine Panerai with the new Radiomir 1940 3 days in red gold, fitted with the P.3000 calibre, a hand-wound mechanical movement with a power reserve of three days. In the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Oro Rosso the essential forms of the Panerai design have been integrated with the technical solutions for an haute horlogerie sports watch, which have influenced the materials chosen and the construction of every detail. The dial, with the small seconds hand at nine o’clock and the date window at three o’clock, has the sandwich structure of two superimposed plates with the luminous material between them, the light of which emerges through the holes in the upper plate corresponding to the hour markers. This type of dial construction was designed by Panerai in the late 1930s to provide greater brightness and legibility. The colour of the dial is brown. The case is made of 5Npt red gold, an alloy with a high percentage of copper, which gives the colour greater intensity, and a proportion of platinum, which helps to exclude oxidation. The case and bezel have a polished finish. On the back is a large sapphire crystal window through which the P.3000 movement, entirely developed and produced in the Officine Panerai manufacture in Neuchâtel, can be admired.
