Patek Philippe produced the first Calatrava back in 1932, the reference 96. A timeless and understated watch inspired by the minimalist principles of the Bauhaus - a German school of art and architecture which adheres to the principle that form must follow function. The modern Calatrava watches still adhere to that philosophy, the clean lines and the clarity and legibility of its clear, pure dial. The name Calatrava is taken from that of the cross which is used as Patek Philippes emblem. This 18ct Yellow Gold Calatrava was originally purchased in December 2007 and has just returned from Patek after having a service and valet. The watch is in excellent condition and is supplied in a leather Patek case with the original instruction manual, certificate of origin, additional (worn) crocodile strap and service invoice dated July 2015.
